The United Kingdom's National Bahá'í Centre is situated at 27 Rutland Gate, London SW7 1PD. This is in London's Knightsbridge district and is not far from many of the main tourist attractions and shopping areas. It was from here that the Guardian's funeral cortege departed in 1957 and it was the site of the first business meeting of the Universal House of Justice in 1963. The building is the seat of the National Spiritual Assembly, the Bahá’í community's elected national governing council. It also houses the National Assembly's main offices, a beautiful prayer and meeting room, and a bookshop. Rutland Gate is about seven minutes walk from the Royal Albert Hall, where the first Baha'i World Congress took place in 1963. |
