Shoghi Effendi (1897-1957), was the great-grandson of Baha’u’llah and administrator of the affairs of the international Baha'i community affairs from 1921-1957. Shoghi Effendi spent several years in the UK and studied Economics and Social Science at Oxford University and travelled around the UK to meet different Baha'i communities.
His resting place at New Southgate Cemetery in London is a special place of prayer and reflection for people from all over the world.

The apartment at 17 Royal York Crescent, Bristol, where ‘Abdu’l-Bahá stayed on 23-25th September 1911 and 15-16 January 1913 is now open to visitors.
All are welcome to come to pray and meditate, view precious archival items and experience the unique atmosphere of a site in which His presence can still be felt after more than a century.

Visiting slots are currently available on Tuesdays and Saturdays, at 9.30am, 11.30am and 1.30pm. Visits are currently limited to six people per time slot.

The Drawing Room where ‘Abdu’l-Bahá gave His public talks, the room in which He slept, and the Balcony upon which He stood, have been painstakingly restored and refurbished, bringing the apartment closer in appearance to its condition at the time when ‘Abdu’l-Bahá visited.
